What’s Papa Kief about?

I am a longtime cannabis educator and consultant. I have helped determine how marijuana can be productively used in peoples lives on an individual basis for more than a decade.

It is difficult to know how marijuana will affect you. You want to maximize the benefits and not unwittingly choose products that make you too high. To determine what works best I meet with you, preferably in person, to discuss your needs and concerns. We then establish a program for the introduction of marijuana in your life.

I can custom tailor an approach based on your medicinal needs and daily schedule restrictions. As the author of “Potbelly: A Guide to Cooking Weed,” I am more than happy to work with you to identify and create treats, candies, tiny protein bars (vegan, gluten free, dairy free, sugar free, you name it) fresh each week.

I have 10 years of experience with individualized cannabis regimen creation. In my “normal life,” I am an established and award winning small business owner.

Why did you become involved in the cannabis industry?

Cannabis has been a major contributor to the success in my non-marijuana related business life by allowing me to concentrate, relax and brainstorm in a way that is not otherwise possible.

When and how did you start your consultation business?

My business of helping others find the right means of marijuana use for their lives began nearly a decade ago while helping a family member who had a serious illness.

My ability to work with them branched off, and soon I was working with many people and many unique applications and uses.

Did you hold a job while you started Papa Kief Products?

I have always had another job in combination with my cannabis business. I actually gained much success and acclaim with articles about me in the New York Times, The Next Web, CNet and many more; none the wiser as to my involvement with cannabis.

Did you start your business solo or did you have a team? Describe the early days…

I began Papa Kief as a solo venture and even hid it from people in my personal life. I spent long hours researching and testing, and ultimately sharing my findings online free.

I set up a phone number for Papa Kief and put it out there to the public to call with any questions. For the next four years, I answered calls throughout the day and discussed people’s needs and concerns.

Reid Hoffman, LinkedIn founder, is quoted saying “If you are not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too late.” Were you ’embarrassed’ by anything during your business startup?

There were certainly times when formulations, recipes and grows did not work out the way I had imagined. If you have ever tried to infuse cannabis into hard candy, you know what I mean!

Describe one or more goals for your company over the next 5 years.

Papa Kief is an ever evolving company that is growing into a larger consulting firm. It remains true to its roots of finding solutions that work for individuals, and not one-size-fits-all blanket solutions

Describe some of your consistent habits/activities that are essential to your success.

Taking time to speak with those that have concerns about the industry, the medicine and its use keeps you grounded and moving in the right direction.

What aspect of Papa Kief Products are you most passionate about?

It is incredible to be involved with the longest used medicinal herb that’s breaking new ground daily! We have only recently identified the endocannabinoid system which is in all of us!

When you look at the cannabis industry as a whole, what are you most excited about?

The cat is out of the bag now and there is no putting it back in. We are beyond the tipping point.

Do you have a favorite quote?

“If the words ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness’ don’t include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn’t worth the hemp it was written on.” – Terence McKenna
